  Itawamba Community College has scheduled several pathways classes to begin in January 2025 at the Belden Center (3200 Adams Farm Rd.). • ICC schedules three pathway programs to begin Mar. 2 at Belden Center

  Registration is underway at the Itawamba Community College Belden Center for three pathway programs that are scheduled to begin Mar. 2. They include Small Engine Repair, Introduction to Welding and Cutting and Basics of Residential Wiring. Small Engine Repair will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. through Apr. 29. The 16-session program will prepare participants for a career as they develop small engine repair skills in basic maintenance, recoil systems, fuel systems, ignition systems/electrical circuits and disassembling and rebuilding small engines. Successful completion of the program entitles the participant to have an opportunity to obtain an entry-level technician position at an existing small engine repair business or to open his/her own shop. Successful completers will receive information about how to test for the nationally-recognized technician certification exam. The cost of the program is $369. Introduction to Welding and Cutting meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. through Apr. 8.  The class is designed to provide entry-level skills in welding and cutting and to prepare students to do the basic GMAW and SMAW welding jobs that some industries and small businesses require. ...

              Registration is underway at Itawamba Community College for three career pathway programs that will begin January 30 at the Belden Center.             They include Electrician Assistant, Small Engine Repair and Introduction to Welding and Cutting.             Electrician Assistant will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. through Feb. 29. The program prepares individuals to work closely with their supervising electrician to perform routine electrical work. It provides the foundational knowledge of basic math and basic safety rules; the use of hand, measuring and power tools; basic electricity and residential wiring. Students can also prepare for entry-level jobs in industry or private businesses. Cost is $370.             In the 16-session Small Engine Repair pathway, students prepare for a career as they develop skills in basic maintenance, recoil systems, fuel systems, ignition systems/electrical circuits and disassembling and rebuilding small engines.   Itawamba Community College has scheduled several pathways classes to begin in August at the Belden Center (3200 Adams Farm Rd.).                 They include Pharmacy Technician, Aug. 3-Dec. 10, Tuesdays, 6-9 p.m.; Certified Nursing Assistant, Aug. 12-Oct. 30, Mondays and Wednesdays, 5-9 p.m.; Food Management Certification, Aug. 12-Sept. 6, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.; Google IT Support Certification (online self-paced), Aug. 12-Dec. 6; Medical Administrative Assistant, Aug. 12-Nov. 6, Mondays, 5-9 p.m. (plus additional online assignments); Medical Assistant, Aug. 12-Dec. 12, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, 6-9 p.m.; Business Office Specialist, Aug. 13-Dec. 8, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5-9 p.m.; and Phlebotomy Technician, Aug. 15-Oct. 24, Thursdays, 5:30-9:30 p.m.                 The Pharmacy Technician program prepares students for an entry-level position in both institutional and pharmacy settings. They include Business Office Specialist, Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT Basic, Small Engine Repair, Introduction to Welding and Cutting and Residential Wiring.             Business Office Specialist will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-9:30 p.m. from Aug. 10-Dec. 7. The program is designed for students to develop basic office, communication and computer technology skills. Through intensive lab instruction, students will have the opportunity to attain an Intuit Quickbooks® certification and receive training and instruction to prepare for the Microsoft Office Specialist certification for Microsoft Excel and Word. In addition, participants will receive instruction and training in performance of technical office tasks, basic math, fundamentals of bookkeeping and basic human resource management.             Certified Nursing Assistant will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-9 p.m. from Aug. 9-Oct. 27.
