ICC to enroll new adult education students at Belden Center, Sept. 8 and 9

Itawamba Community College will enroll new adult education students in morning/afternoon and evening classes at the Belden Center (3200 Adams Farm Rd.), Sept. 8 and 9.

Registration for morning classes, which are taught Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m.-noon. and afternoon classes (Monday through Thursday, 1-4 p.m.) both will be at 9 a.m., Sept. 8, for individuals 18 years of age and older. Those who are 16-17 years old must attend registration, Sept. 9, at 9 a.m., and they can only attend afternoon classes. A legal guardian must accompany the participants, and they must provide a school withdrawal from the last school attended. All enrollees must provide a state-issued ID and a Social Security card.

Evening classes are taught Mondays and Tuesdays from 4:30-8:30 p.m., and those 18 years of age and older can register Sept. 8 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Individuals who participate in the come-and-go session should arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. Those who are 16-17 years old cannot enroll in evening classes at the Belden Center unless they bring documentation from an employer that includes a schedule that conflicts with day classes, according to Audra Perry, director of Adult Education at ICC.

There is no cost for the classes.

GED® and HiSET® testing is continuing on a weekly basis, and all program-enrolled students take the GED® or HiSET® free of charge. For more information on scheduling an appointment, contact Priscilla Trice at pbtrice@iccms.edu or call (662) 407-1513.
