• ICC to honor All-American Heroes, Sept. 18

  Both past and current members of the armed forces, first responders and healthcare professionals will be special guests at Itawamba Community College’s annual All-American Heroes Night, Sept. 18, at Lambert Stadium/Eaton Field at the Fulton Campus and honored during ICC’s football game with East Mississippi Community College, which begins at 7 p.m.                 Special activities will include a salute during halftime featuring ICC’s All-American Marching Band and a spectacular fireworks display. Admission is free to all past and current armed forces members and healthcare professionals, first responders and their families. • ICC to host RedZone Community Tailgate before Sept. 3 home football game

  Itawamba Community College will host the RedZone Community Tailgate, Sept. 3, before the Indians’ home football game against East Central Community College. The tailgate, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 5 p.m. in the ICC Grove and continue until 6:30 p.m. Pregame activities will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Butch Lambert Stadium, followed by kickoff at 7 p.m.  Fans attending the game will be among the first to experience several major enhancements to Butch Lambert Stadium, including a new all-natural playing surface, Musco LED lighting and a new video board. Fans are reminded that ICC's new clear bag requirement is in effect for athletic events. Attendees should plan accordingly before entering the stadium.  Additional game day information is available at www.letsgoicc.com.

              Both past and current members of the armed forces, first responders and healthcare professionals will be honored during Itawamba Community College’s All-American Heroes Night, Oct. 26, at Lambert Stadium/Eaton Field at the Fulton Campus during ICC’s football game with East Mississippi Community College, which begins at 7 p.m.              Special activities will include a salute during halftime featuring ICC’s All-American Band. Admission is free to all past and current armed forces members and healthcare professionals, first responders and their families. Beginning at 5 p.m., activities such as Touch a Truck with military, healthcare and first responder vehicles will feature fire, police and an Army Humvee. • ICC to honor Alumnus of the Year, Athletic Hall of Fame Sept. 23

  Itawamba Community College will honor its 2021 Alumnus of the Year and Athletic Hall of Fame inductees during Homecoming activities, Sept. 23, at the Fulton Campus. They include Karen Camp McFerrin of Mantachie, Alumnus of the Year; and Cameron “CeCee” Austin Cavanaugh of Pontotoc and Jeff Tally of Saltillo, Athletic Hall of Fame.             From 1968-70, McFerrin attended ICC, where she earned the associate’s degree. She was a Wesley Foundation officer, Drum Major, vice president of the Home Economics Club and charter member of Phi Theta Kappa, Hall of Fame, IJC Beauty and Dean’s List Scholar. She continued her education at the University of Mississippi, where she earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in home economics. She began her career working for the Mississippi Extension Service in Tylertown before returning home to accept a position at ICC, where she served as a recruiter, teacher and adviser. McFerrin played a vital role in the organization of the Indian Delegation. • ICC to host All-American Heros Night Sept. 17

  Itawamba Community College will honor those who serve their communities and country during All-American Heroes Night, Sept. 17, when the Indians host the Northeast Mississippi Community College Tigers at Butch Lambert Stadium on the Fulton Campus. The evening will also commemorate America’s 250th anniversary and celebrate the nation’s history, service members and everyday heroes. Current or retired medical professionals, first responders and military personnel, along with their families, will receive free admission to the game. Guests are encouraged to be inside the stadium by 6:30 p.m. for pregame activities, which will include a special patriotic tribute performed by the ICC All-American Marching Band, an Apache helicopter flyover and a fireworks display. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ICC’s clear bag requirement will be in effect at Butch Lambert Stadium.
