17 September ICC to host Fall Preview Day Oct. 1 September 17, 2026 By Camp, Tyler W Career Center, General 0 High school seniors are invited to experience Itawamba Community College during Fall Preview Day, Oct. 1 at the Fulton Campus. Check-in will begin at 2 p.m. at the W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center, followed by sessions highlighting ICC’s academic, health science and career education programs, as well as financial aid, scholarships, housing, student involvement and university transfer opportunities. Campus and residence hall tours and an involvement fair are also planned. Following the community tailgate, participants will receive free admission to a tailgate at 5:30 p.m. and the ICC football game against Holmes Community College at 7 p.m. Two attendees will have the opportunity to compete for a $1,000 scholarship sponsored by Dr Pepper and the ICC Foundation. Dates include Oct. 21, Nov. 4 and 12 at the Fulton Campus, and Oct. 22 at the Tupelo Campus. Morning sessions begin with check in at 8 a.m. and close by 12:15 p.m. with optional campus and housing tours from 1-2:30 p.m. Afternoon sessions will begin with check in at 1 p.m. and close by 5:30 p.m. with housing and campus tours from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The opportunity will include information about ICC’s academic, health science and career education programs, and participants will hear directly from faculty within the areas. ICC to host free MiBEST information session, Oct. 19, at Belden Center Itawamba Community College will host an information session on how individuals can earn college credits and certification in HVAC, welding/cutting or Certified Nursing Assistant while working on their high school equivalency credentials at 2 p.m., Oct. 19, at the Belden Center (3200 Adams Farm Rd.). The free event is part of a commemoration of MiBEST Week, which is Oct. 18-23. The Mississippi Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training program is a workforce and economic development initiative that moves low-skilled, noncredentialed Mississippians from the economic sidelines into careers earning family-sustaining wages, according to Linzy Patterson, ICC director of adult education. The session will also cover information on academic success and financial aid. Patterson said that pathways in addition to HVAC, welding/cutting and CNA will be available soon.
