Jenna Hull accepted into Mississippi Rural Physicians Scholarship program

 

            Itawamba Community College sophomore Jenna Hull of Hamilton has been accepted into the Mississippi Rural Physicians Scholarship Program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

            The Mississippi Rural Physicians Scholarship program offers a scholarship to rural medical students in Mississippi who agree to practice in underserved rural areas of Mississippi for at least four years upon completion of their degree. The program offers up to $30,000 per year to cover the cost of tuition and a portion of the student’s instructional materials and living expenses. 

            Hull is a biology major at ICC, where she will receive her associate’s degree next month. Her activities include Indian Delegation, LIN Report (producer), Phi Theta Kappa (vice president of scholarship), Science Club (president), Orientation Leader, tutor at the Student Success Center, Honors in Action committee and the Baptist Student Union. Her honors include Hall of Fame, president’s and dean’s lists, honors, the John and Beth Cleveland Scholarship recipient, freshman homecoming maid, speaker at Junior Preview Day, recipient of the Science Department chemistry award, ACT scholarship and the Presidential Partnership Scholarship for Mississippi State University. She is the daughter of Steven Hull and Mary Trimm.

            This fall, Hull plans to transfer to Mississippi State University but ultimately to the University of Mississippi Medical Center where she will work toward her career goal as a general internist.
