14 August Prestigious nursing transfer scholarship awarded to ICC graduate August 14, 2026 By Camp, Tyler W Career Center, General 0 Itawamba Community College graduate Nathalie Munoz-Pascacio of Oxford has received the prestigious Bower-Delta State University Transfer Nursing Scholarship from the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation. Munoz-Pascacio earned her Associate of Arts degree from ICC in May and is now enrolled in the nursing program at Delta State University, where she is continuing her education to become a registered nurse. The renewable scholarship provides $4,000 per semester, with a maximum award of $20,000 per student. It is available to Mississippi nursing students who plan to transfer to Delta State and is intended to help strengthen the state’s health care workforce. During her two years at ICC, Munoz-Pascacio was also the recipient of an ICC Foundation scholarship, which supported her as she completed the first step toward her nursing career. “Nathalie’s selection for this prestigious scholarship reflects her dedication, academic achievement and commitment to serving others through the nursing profession,” said ICC President Dr. Jay Allen. “We are proud that ICC provided the foundation for the next step in her educational journey, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact she will make as a registered nurse.” “The Phi Theta Kappa Foundation is a dynamic partner in our efforts to improve the health of Mississippians,” said Amy Swales, program director at the Bower Foundation. “Their strategic initiatives help identify students who demonstrate characteristics necessary to succeed in Delta State University’s nursing program. ICC's Salinas awarded prestigious Community College Transfer Scholarship Diana Salinas, Itawamba Community College sophomore, is one of 72 recipients of the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s prestigious Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. The highly competitive national scholarship will provide Salinas with up to $40,000 a year to complete her bachelor’s degree. Salinas is majoring in computer science at ICC, where she is vice president of the Student Government Association, president of the Computer Science Club, Diamond Girl, member of the Honors College and vice president of leadership and regional reporter for Phi Theta Kappa. Her honors include Hall of Fame, Dean’s and President’s lists, SGA Scholarship, Dean’s Scholarship, All-Mississippi Academic Second Team, NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars, Delta Scholar, Tennessee Valley Authority Scholarship and Lyceum Scholarship from the University of Mississippi, where she will transfer.
