Several area students are new members of Phi Theta Kappa at Itawamba Community College. Calliope authors

The work of several area students will be featured in The Calliope during the spring semester at Itawamba Community College. The poets and their work include Kate Scaife (“Never to Wake”) of Amory; Joshua Sutton (“The Tyranny of Season”), Christopher Roberts (“The Dam and the Cloud”), both of Fulton;  Justin Gary (“STRESS”), Rebecca Owens (“El Aire Libre”), both of New Albany; Jordan Ginn (“My Shoes”) of Pearl; Lynnse Phelps (“Accidental Fire”), Grace Gault (“My Sin”), Madison Nanney (“Winter Must Come, for I need to Fall Out of Love”), all of Saltillo; and Abigail Chase (“One Night Only”) of Smithville. The Calliope is ICC’s literary magazine. Keith Morris of the Communications Division is the sponsor.

Spring Registration Continues

Registration for the 2017 spring semester at Itawamba Community College will continue through Dec. 16. To register, visit the Student Affairs offices on either the Fulton or Tupelo campuses between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., weekdays. Locations are the Student Support Center (Tupelo) and David C. Cole Student Services building (Fulton). Academic, career and technical, eLearning (online) and workforce opportunities are always available in an extensive schedule, which includes both day and evening classes at Fulton, Tupelo and Belden. New or returning students, age 23 or older, who have not been enrolled in college for the previous two years, can apply for an Adult Learner Incentive Scholarship, which provides half-tuition for one semester. Criteria for selection include Mississippi resident, enrollment in a minimum of six semester hours, meeting admission requirements and in good standing with ICC. The scholarship cannot be combined with other ICC institutional scholarships. The next opportunity to register for the spring semester will be during open registration, scheduled for Jan. 5 and 6.
