General 0 Registration is underway for an Electrician Assistant pathway class that is scheduled to begin Sept. 14 at the Itawamba Community College Belden Center (3200 Adams Farm Rd.). The class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-9 p.m. through Dec. 9. The program prepares individuals as electrician assistants to work closely with their supervising electrician to perform routine electrical work. It provides the foundational knowledge of basic math and safety rules; the use of hand, measuring and power tools; basic electricity and residential wiring. Students can also prepare for entry-level jobs in industry or private business. Related Articles Registration underway for ICC Pathway programs to begin in September Registration is underway at Itawamba Community College for several pathway programs that are scheduled to begin in September at the Belden Center. They include Certified Nursing Assistant, Commercial Truck Driving, Human Resources Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant, Basic Construction, Introduction to Industrial Maintenance and Electrician Assistant. Certified Nursing Assistant will meet from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, Sept. 21-Oct. 6. The program prepares participants to take the exam to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. Upon successful program and examination completion, employment could be available in nursing homes, medical centers, home healthcare providers and clinics. Commercial Truck Driving begins Sept. 9 and will meet from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, through Oct. 2. The program prepares individuals to drive Class A semi trucks and other commercial vehicles. It includes instruction in operating diesel-powered vehicles, loading and unloading cargo, reporting delays or accidents on the road, verifying loads against shipping records and keeping necessary records. ICC Food Service Pathway class to begin Sept. 7 Itawamba Community College has scheduled a Food Service Pathway class at the Belden Center (3200 Adams Farm Rd.) beginning Sept. 7. Classes will meet Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. through Oct. 5. The program includes Serve Safe® Food Manager Certification, Serve Safe® Alcohol Certification, CPR, certificate of completion, proper food handling standards, kitchen safety practices, culinary techniques, interview skills and résumé building, money handling and front of the house and back of the house operations. Tuition assistance may be available for qualified applicants.
