10 August ICC Continuing Education announces fall 2026 lineup of creative, hands-on classes August 10, 2026 By Camp, Tyler W Career Center, General 0 Itawamba Community College’s Continuing Education department will offer several creative and hands-on classes this fall. Nailed It! Home Skills Series The new Nailed It! Home Skills Series will help beginners gain confidence using common tools and completing practical home projects. Classes will be offered on the Tupelo Campus: Sept. 1 — Framing Fundamentals; Sept. 8 — Sheetrock Made Simple; Sept. 15 — Painting and Wallpaper Basics; Sept. 22 — Flip the Switch: Light Electrical Basics Participants may register for individual classes or the complete series. No previous experience is required, and everyone is welcome. “We want these classes to be fun, practical and empowering,” said ICC Continuing Education Specialist Rena Chism. “Participants will leave with skills they can use for years to come.” Coffee, Clay and Conversation Coffee, Clay and Conversation will give participants the opportunity to create a handmade coffee mug or iced coffee cup using slab-building pottery techniques. The beginner-friendly class will meet Sept. 2 and 9 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Boggs Humanities Building on the Fulton Campus. The $30 registration fee includes both sessions, instruction, materials and firing. Deck the Door Participants can create a hand-painted Christmas doormat during Deck the Door, scheduled for Nov. 5 at 5:30 p.m. at the ICC Belden Center. No artistic experience is required. The $35 registration fee includes the doormat and all supplies. Space in all of the classes is limited, and early registration is encouraged. Gammill said that the class schedule includes both new opportunities as well as those that have been offered before. “We have integrated new classes such as an introduction to single board microcomputers and microcontrollers that join old favorites in the areas of art, cake decorating, photography, ACT prep, sign language and personal finance. Professional continuing education is available for EMS refreshers and engineers and surveyors as well as an extensive schedule of career pathways, or short-term courses, to prepare students for the next step. Our senior college, which began during the spring semester, continues to offer an opportunity to enable retirees to stay active in the community and engage with other participants who share the same enthusiasm and zest for life and learning as they do.” The ... Registration underway for three ICC continuing education classes that begin soon at the Belden Center Registration is continuing for several continuing education classes that begin soon at the Itawamba Community College Belden Center. They include Autoimmune Nutrition, Oct. 12; and Beginning Cake Decorating and Basic Computer Skills, both Oct. 16. Autoimmune Nutrition, which meets Thursday nights for six weeks from 6-7:30 p.m., includes tailoring the diet to manage an overactive immune system, the definition of autoimmune disorder, dealing with increased sugar consumption and foods that heal. Cost is $45. Basic Computer Skills is for the computer operator beginner. Included are basic operation instruction, Microsoft Word and such functions as email. No keyboarding will be taught in the class which meets Mondays and Tuesdays for four weeks. The cost is $85. Beginning Cake Decorating meets each Monday night for four weeks. The $125 fee includes the cost of supplies and the Wilton decorating kit, which participants will keep. Limited seating is available for all classes. Registration underway for four ICC continuing education classes at Belden Center Registration is underway at Itawamba Community College for four classes that are offered through its Continuing Education Department at the Belden Center. They include Grant Writing (Part 2), EMT-Basic, Forklift and CPR (Heartsaver®). Grant Writing (Part 2), which meets May 31 and June 7 from 8 a.m.-noon, builds on the foundational skills taught in Grant Writing and dives deeper into advanced techniques for writing compelling and competitive grant proposals. Participants will learn how to craft persuasive narratives, strengthen the case for funding and address complex requirements set by various funding organizations. By the end of the class, students will be better equipped to write high-quality, successful grant applications. Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is an instructional course that prepares individuals to function in the prehospital environment. The EMT course provides instruction in basic life support care of sick and injured persons. Participants in the program intern with an ambulance service providing advanced life support services for the community.
