18 June ICC CORE Program Summer Camp set for July 13-16 June 18, 2026 By Camp, Tyler W Career Center, General 0 Itawamba Community College will host its ICC CORE Program Summer Camp July 13-16 on the Fulton Campus, offering students in grades 6-12 an opportunity to explore careers in criminal justice while developing leadership, teamwork and personal skills. The camp will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily in Room 3 of the eLearning Building. Participants will engage in hands-on activities focused on criminal investigations, leadership development, physical fitness, obstacle course challenges, skills competitions, team-building exercises and career exploration opportunities. The camp is designed to introduce students to various aspects of law enforcement and public safety careers while helping them build confidence, communication skills and leadership abilities. Related Articles Perfect score leads ICC's Salinas to NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars summer program Itawamba Community College sophomore Diana Salinas of Golden has been selected into the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Community College Aerospace Scholars summer program. Salinas was chosen as one of the top performing students in a NASA-sponsored five-week online course, which was a prerequisite for her prestigious selection. She earned a perfect score on the program where she designed a robot to collect samples on the Moon. Salinas will receive a $550 stipend from NASA for completing the summer program, which will be virtual due to COVID. “It has been a great experience to be able to participate in this course,” Salinas said. “I learned many new skills and was able to interact with some amazing NASA speakers. If you are interested in space or NASA, I highly recommend this course to others.” The virtual NCAS will include an interactive team competition to plan a mission to the Moon or Mars; NASA mentors assigned to each team; speakers from NASA’s diverse workforce; virtual behind-the-scenes tours of multiple NASA centers; individualized résumé feedback from NASA mentors and ... ICC's summer drama camp takes humorous look at childhood Oh, to be young again…to climb trees, play house, double Dutch jump rope, ride bikes and roller skate. Sounds fun,… until you remember the bumps along the way. During Itawamba Community College’s summer drama camp, June 3-7, from 9 a.m. – noon at the W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center Auditorium at the Fulton Campus, students leaving the second through eighth grades will take a humorous romp through childhood – looking at some of children’s most challenging moments. During the week, campers will play fun improvisational games like “Give Me Your Best Yucky Food Face” and “Funniest Sleeping Position.” They will make props and pictures to feature in their final program as well as act out and narrate scenes from the following children’s books: I Don’t Want to Get Up by Dr. Seuss, The New Small Child by Lauren Child, Tales for Very Picky Eaters by Josh Sneider, and Alexander, Who’s Not (Do You Hear Me? Registration underway for ICC Summer Band Camp Registration is under way for the 2021 Itawamba Community College Summer Band Camp, which will be June 20-25. The camp is designed for those interested in furthering their music education, strengthening their leadership skills and creating lifelong friendships, according to director Ryan Todd. Since 1981, the camp has hosted more than 16,000 students from all over the United States. It is regarded as one of the finest summer band camps in the Mid-South. Instruction includes general courses for all campers, drum majors, color guard and percussion. The registration deadline is May 15. ICC's enhanced Summer Edge program offers tuition free up to six hours and waived fees Itawamba Community College is continuing its Summer Edge program, and the enhanced version will offer all students an opportunity to take up to six credit hours (two three-credit hour classes) with tuition and all fees waived. Classes include both online and face-to-face. “Itawamba Community College is committed to student success and has worked diligently over the past two years to ensure all students are receiving the resources they need to be successful,” said ICC President Dr. Jay Allen. “We feel that this is a significant opportunity to reengage/engage students who continue to experience economic barriers due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will enable students to get an edge in classes through quality instruction at ICC. ICC schedules "Spooktacular," summer drama camp Registration is underway for “Spooktacular,” a summer drama camp at Itawamba Community College, which is scheduled for June 5-9 from 9 a.m.-noon at the W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center at the Fulton Campus. The camp includes classes and performances focused on such literature as “Creepy Carrots,” “The Jabberwocky,” “Macavity the Mystery Cat” and “What Are You Scared Of.” Students who are leaving second through eighth grade are eligible to participate. ICC to host MHP C.O.R.E. summer camp Itawamba Community College will host a Mississippi Highway Patrol C.O.R.E. summer camp tailored for young detectives and aspiring law enforcement officers, July 14-17, at the Fulton Campus for students from sixth to twelfth grades. The camp will delve into crime scene investigations, team building concepts, leadership development, obstacle course training and skills challenges with instruction from experienced professionals. Times are 6th-9th grades, 8-11:30 a.m. and 10th-12th grades, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. The cost is $100, which includes snacks and a camp shirt.
