General 0 Itawamba Community College Head Football Coach Travis Macon has set activities for the annual Chop Day, Apr. 27, beginning at noon at Lambert Stadium/Eaton Field at the Fulton Campus. The schedule includes 11:45 a.m. - Players stretch; 12:01 p.m. - Introduction of the 2024 team followed by coaches and signees; 12:05 p.m. - Band plays the National Anthem, followed by the Fight Song and Chop, and the players run through the tunnel; 12:10 p.m. - Bag Drill; 12:15 p.m. - 7 on 7/1 on 1 (defensive linemen and offensive linemen); 12:22 p.m. - Punt, Pass, Kick (student activity); 12:25 p.m. - 1st and 10; 12:35 p.m. - Ball on 20/Field Goal; 12:42 p.m. - Strongest Arm/Catch-A-Punt (student activity); 12:45 p.m. - Third and Long/Punt; 12:55 p.m. - Tempo; 1:05 p.m. - Two-Point Play-Call; with students (student activity); 1:10 p.m. - All-American Band honored from the stands; 1:15 p.m. - Photo Ops with Players and Coaches; 1:45 p.m. - Transition to Baseball Game; 2 p.m. - ICC baseball doubleheader with Jones. Coach Macon is scheduled to throw out the first pitch. From 11:45 a.m.-1-45 p.m., vendors will be set up inside the stadium. They include Cheesecakes by Ricky Leathers, Matt Moore BBQ and the Indian Delegation's Hydration Station. Little Indians will have an opportunity to enjoy inflatables, face painting and hair tinsel. ICC Chop Day '25 offers football, fun and food opportunities Chop Day ’25, which is scheduled for Apr. 24 at Itawamba Community College, will not only preview the Indians fall football season but also provide an opportunity for both students and the community to participate in fun events and sample some tasty food at the Fulton Campus. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., food trucks, including Korny Dog, Crawfish Commander and Just Chillin’ Ice Cream, will be available beside the Crane Pavilion. The gate for the football scrimmage opens at 6 p.m. at Butch Lambert Stadium with a free kid zone. Concessions and Chick-fil-A food options will also be open. All food during both day and evening activities is available for purchase. They include Small Ensembles, Apr. 9, 7 p.m.; Spring Band, Apr. 11, 6:30 p.m.; Percussion Ensemble, Apr. 16, 7 p.m. and CenterStage, Apr. 24, 7 p.m. Groups included in the Small Ensemble concert are the Rush Hour Saxophone Quartet, Brass Ensemble and Wind Ensemble. ICC schedules Food Service Pathway class to begin Apr. 4 Itawamba Community College has scheduled a Food Service Pathway class at the Belden Center (3200 Adams Farm Rd.) beginning Apr 4. Classes will meet Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. through Apr. 29. The program includes Serve Safe® Food Manager Certification, Serve Safe® Alcohol Certification, CPR, certificate of completion, proper food handling standards, kitchen safety practices, culinary techniques, interview skills and résumé building, money handling and front of the house and back of the house operations. ICC schedules multiple orientation sessions beginning Apr. 9 Itawamba Community College has scheduled orientation sessions for students who plan to enroll for the 2025 summer and fall semesters. Recent high school graduates are required to participate in one of the sessions, which are scheduled for Apr. 9 (Honors), June 10, June 11, July 16, all at 1 p.m. at the Fulton Campus; Apr. 25, June 10, June 11 and July 16, all at 8:30 a.m., at the Fulton Campus; and June 12 and July 15, both at 1 p.m. at the Tupelo Campus. Students can attend a session regardless of the location they plan to attend. However, all students, including adult learners, are invited. “Among the advantages of attending an orientation session are scheduling classes early and choosing from a wide variety of options, including days, times and instructors and possibly completing the process before graduation from high school,” said Michael Holloway, director of recruitment and orientation. “Participants will have an opportunity to connect with other new students as well as to learn more about student life at ICC.
