ICC schedules community tailgate with a twist

Itawamba Community College will host its annual community tailgate on Sept. 15 from 5-6:30 p.m. with a new twist this year.

The Community Tailgate Fan Fest at The Grove on the Fulton Campus will have plenty of “fun” activities preceding the home football game vs. Northeast Mississippi Community College. Food trucks and various groups at ICC are scheduled to be on hand with food and activities, and the public is invited to attend.

“Live entertainment by DJ Marky Mark of Best Productions will begin at 5 p.m., and Do Right BBQ, Jo’s Café, Funky Cones and Snowie will be available,” said ICC Director of Marketing and Community Engagement Nina Strother. “There will be a kid’s zone with games, face painting, bounce houses, inflatable slides and an obstacle course, and fans are welcome to bring their own tents, lawn chairs and blankets to tailgate.”

To continue the celebration of ICC’s 75th anniversary, ICC Alumni Association President Chuck Howell of Pontotoc will display his 1948 Plymouth, the year that the college opened its doors in Fulton.

The football game kicks off at 6:30 p.m., and children ages 12 and under will be admitted free.
