General 0 Itawamba Community College will sponsor a Dinner & Demo series, beginning with an already sold-out session, Oct. 3 at 5 p.m. at Forklift in Tupelo with chef Cooper Miller. Available sessions are scheduled for 6 p.m., October 9, at the ICC Belden Center with Foodsmith chef David Leathers and at 5:30 p.m., Oct. 16, at Park Heights with chef Dan Schroeder. “The chefs at each location will provide a demonstration related to the dinner preparation, which will follow,” according to Josh Gammill, ICC director of Continuing Education, which is cosponsoring the series with the Food Management Certification pathway. “The three restaurants and their executive chefs have created a unique interactive experience for participants,” Gammill said. Limited seating is available. Price per experience is $55 per person. ICC to Host Encore Dinner & Demo Featuring Namaste Due to the overwhelming response to its October Dinner & Demo series, Itawamba Community College will host an encore edition of the popular event on Nov. 19 at 5:30 p.m., featuring Namaste restaurant and Chef Sam. The menu for the evening will include fried spinach with feta as the appetizer. "Women's Private Writing as a Public Resource" is topic of Mar. 28 ICC lecture series Dr. Bridget Smith Pieschel will present “Women’s Private Writing as a Public Resource” at 6 p.m., Mar. 28, at the W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center Lecture Demonstration Room on the Itawamba Community College Fulton Campus. A native of Louisville, she earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from Mississippi University for Women and the doctorate from the University of Alabama. Now retired after 39 years, 25 of those in supervisory positions, she is Emerita Professor of English and Women’s Studies. Her career at The W included serving as the director of the Honors Program, as the dean of the Division of Humanities and twice as chair of the Department of Languages, Literature and Philosophy. She became the director of the Center for Women’s Research and Public Policy at The W in 2005. Her honors include recipient of the MUW Medal of Excellence in 2005 and the Kossen Distinguished Faculty Award in 2012.
