21 April ICC to host Dinner and Demo featuring Delta tamales and southern cuisine April 21, 2026 By Camp, Tyler W Career Center, General 0 Itawamba Community College will host its next Dinner and Demo on April 30 at 5:30 p.m. at The Gin, offering guests an evening of Southern cuisine, culinary history and live acoustic music. The event will feature a live cooking demonstration highlighting the history and preparation of fried Delta tamales. Attendees will enjoy a multi-course meal beginning with fried Delta tamales, followed by blackened catfish served over grits with creole sauce. Dessert options include lemon meringue pie or black bottom pie. A peach sangria cocktail will also be available. In addition to the culinary experience, guests will enjoy live acoustic music throughout the evening, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Tickets are $40 per person. The limited-seat culinary experience invites guests to enjoy an intimate evening of cooking demonstrations by the residence chef while also dining on a specially curated menu from the featured restaurant. Designed as a monthly food experience, Dinner & Demo offers a unique opportunity to see preparation techniques up close while savoring a full meal in a relaxed, engaging atmosphere. The March 26 menu will showcase wild game selections, including duck and bison, offering guests a bold and distinctive dining experience. Humanities Club at ICC to Host “Career Curveballs” Featuring Chase Parham and Jeff Roberson The Humanities Club at Itawamba Community College will host a special event, Career Curveballs: Chase Parham and Jeff Roberson, October 28 on the Fulton campus for ICC students. Parham, an ICC alumnus, works for 247Sports/CBS Sports and is co-owner of MPW Digital, Mississippi’s most downloaded podcast network. During his time at ICC, he served as Chieftain sports editor and was recognized with the 2004 Journalism Department Award. He is also the author of Resilient Rebels: Ole Miss Baseball’s Remarkable Path to a National Title and co-author of Stories From Ole Miss Baseball, which includes a foreword by Archie Manning. Parham and his co-author, Jeff Roberson, will share insights on their career paths, daily job responsibilities and experiences in sports media. This student-focused session aims to offer practical advice and a real-world perspective for those interested in journalism, broadcasting and communications-related careers. The event will also be recorded for Parham’s podcast, and he will host a book signing afterward for Stories From Ole Miss Baseball.
