Pathways to Construction Employment set to begin Feb. 27

Registration is underway for a Pathway to Construction Employment program, which will begin Feb. 27 at the Itawamba Community College Belden Center (3200 Adams Farm Rd.).

            The sessions will meet Feb. 27, 28 and Mar. 1, 2, 5, 6, 7 and 8 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

            Topics include basic safety, construction math, introduction to hand tools and power tools, construction drawings, basic rigging, communication and employability skills and introduction to material handling. The 64-hour program includes the core curriculum of the National Center for Construction Education and Research. No experience and no skills are necessary. Upon successful completion, participants will earn NCCER Certification for the Construction Core program.
