General 0 Itawamba Community College’s fall 2025 session of Senior College will kick off Aug. 20 with a presentation by longtime Itawamba Community College coach and athletic director Carrie Ball-Williamson of Pontotoc, who will share her journey. Highlights include her experiences, athletic leadership and the impact of sports on student success. “ICC’s Senior College is designed for those who are retired and looking for something fun to do,” said Josh Gammill, director of Continuing Education. “The sessions offer wonderful opportunities for community members to learn more about topics specific to our area, stay active in the community and engage with other participants who share the same enthusiasm and zest for life and learning as they do.” Additional dates include Sept. 24, road trip to the Tammy Wynette Legacy Center in Tremont, where participants will view an exhibit that traces the life of the “First Lady of Country Music,” have a southern-style lunch and enjoy entertainment from local musicians; Oct. 22, “Craft and Giggles,” a lighthearted session focused on hands-on crafting; Nov. 12, ICC’s Director of Mental Health Services Angelia Herring will address “Mental Health through the Holidays,” and Dec. 10, graduation party to celebrate the semester with food, games and holiday activities. Sessions meet at the ICC Belden Center (3200 Adams Farm Rd.) from 10 a.m.-noon. Cost is $30 per person or $50 per couple per semester. The first session is free. Curtis has donned the flashy white jumpsuit, reminiscent of the King of Rock and Roll, to entertain fans at various events. His renditions of Elvis classics like “Love Me Tender” have left a lasting impression on those lucky enough to witness his act. Curtis has been an Elvis Tribute Artist for more than 30 years. He won first place three consecutive years in the “Images of Elvis” regionals and finished in the top five in the finals in Memphis, Tenn. Curtis also performed with a live band and backup singers in the first Tupelo Elvis Festival in 1999. Local musician to kick off ICC's Senior College, Feb. 6 Dale Rushing of Tupelo will kick off Itawamba Community College’s Senior College, Feb. 6, with a presentation on the influence of Mississippi musicians on the music industry. Rushing is a member of the Rust Bucket Roadies of Mooreville and a self-described late bloomer in the music world. The group is “a lively band that will get your feet moving with their rowdy throwback backbeat of years gone by,” according to their social media account. “They are a true Mississippi gem playing some of the best rocking blues you will ever hear. They have the sound that made Sam Phillips famous influenced by the Hill country blues of North Mississippi, true Americana music that will rock everyone of every age.” In addition to Rushing’s presentation, there will be bingo and door prizes. The Senior College meets once per month, except for February, from 9-11 a.m. at the ICC Belden Center. The next session will be Feb. 20, when Tupelo’s Jack Reed, Jr. will share excerpts from his book, “A Time to Listen.” The first session is free, but a $30 ... ICC pathway programs scheduled for August at Belden Center Registration is underway at Itawamba Community College for several Pathway programs that are scheduled to begin in August at the Belden Center (3200 Adams Farm Rd.). They include Business Office Specialist, Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT Basic, Small Engine Repair, Introduction to Welding and Cutting and Residential Wiring. Business Office Specialist will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-9:30 p.m. from Aug. 10-Dec. 7. The program is designed for students to develop basic office, communication and computer technology skills. Through intensive lab instruction, students will have the opportunity to attain an Intuit Quickbooks® certification and receive training and instruction to prepare for the Microsoft Office Specialist certification for Microsoft Excel and Word. In addition, participants will receive instruction and training in performance of technical office tasks, basic math, fundamentals of bookkeeping and basic human resource management. Certified Nursing Assistant will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-9 p.m. from Aug. 9-Oct. 27. The program prepares participants to take the exam to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.
