• ICC offers intersession classes beginning Aug. 2

  Itawamba Community College is offering an opportunity for students to enroll in four traditional classes during an intersession, which begins Aug. 2 and ends with final examinations on Aug. 13, prior to the beginning of the 2021 fall semester.             The schedule includes English Composition I, American Literature I, College Life and Public Speaking I. All classes meet on a Monday through Friday schedule at the Fulton Campus.             “Traditionally, ICC has offered classes during an intersession between the conclusion of the spring semester and the beginning of the summer semester,” said Dr. Melissa Haab, vice president of enrollment services. “These classes will enable students to enroll and complete traditional academic classes that are requirements for most associate degree programs in a compacted format. • ICC offers Industrial Maintenance short-term classes

              The Itawamba Community College Division of Economic and Community Services is offering an opportunity for individuals to sharpen their skills and learn more about industrial maintenance with a series of short-term classes beginning Aug. 6.             Classes meet at the ICC Belden Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays or Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. They include Basic Electricity, Aug. 6-20; Advanced Electricity, Aug. 22-Sept. 5; PLC-RSLogix for AB 5/500/MICROLOGIX, Sept. 4-18; Mechanical Drives, Sept. 4-Oct. 4; Fluid Power, Sept. 10-Oct. 8; Electrical Control Systems, Oct. 10-24; Industrial Control Wiring, Oct. 29-Nov. 12; Control Logix System Fundamentals and Programming, Oct. 30-Nov. 13; and Troubleshooting, Nov. 14-Dec. 3.             Cost per 40-hour class is $480.             For more information or to register, contact Becky Kelly at (662) 407-1500 or email rakelly@iccms.edu.
• ICC provides innovative delivery of several workforce classes

              Itawamba Community College is providing innovative delivery of several Workforce classes to enable individuals to enroll in three online courses to meet the needs of its workforce partners as well as those of all individuals who are interested in skilling up or exploring job opportunities.             The available courses, which are a collaboration between ICC’s Workforce and eLearning divisions, include Forklift: Train-the-Trainer, Forklift Operator Training and Lockout-Tagout: Isolation of Hazardous Energy.             “ICC’s staff, particularly Workforce and eLearning, have done an exceptional job in transitioning current courses to an online format,” said ICC President Dr. Jay Allen. “With the reduction of face-to-face classroom and training opportunities as the College is impacted by COVID-19, they explored methods of meeting the needs of not only our workforce partners but individuals who are interested in attaining more or better skills to enhance their current or future job options. • Registration underway for January pathways classes at ICC

              Registration is underway for several pathways classes that will begin in January at Itawamba Community College.             They include Business Office Specialist, Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT Basic, Food Service, Enhanced Forklift Operator, Google IT Support Certificate, Medical Administrative Assistant, Pharmacy Technician and Phlebotomy Technician.             Business Office Specialist will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-9:30 p.m., Jan. 11-May 5. It is designed for students to develop basic office, communication and computer technology skills. Through intensive lab instruction, students will have the opportunity to attain an Intuit Quickbooks® certification and receive training and instruction to prepare for the Microsoft Office Specialist certification for Microsoft Excel and Word. Additional instruction and training include performance of technical office tasks, basic math, fundamentals of bookkeeping and human resource management.             Certified Nursing Assistant will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-9 p.m., Jan. 10-Mar. 16. They include Food Management Certification, Jan. 13-Feb. 7, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.; Certified Nursing Assistant, Jan. 13-Mar. 26, Mondays and Wednesdays, 5-9 p.m.; Medical Administrative Assistant, Jan 13-Apr. 9, Mondays, 5-9 p.m. plus additional online assignments; Medical Assistant, Jan. 13-May 8, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 6-9 p.m.; Business Office Specialist, Jan. 14-May 8, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5-9 p.m.; and EMT Basic, Jan. 14-May 8, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5-10 p.m.      Food Management Certification includes the essential skills needed to thrive in the restaurant and hospitality industry.
