• ICC to host free Red Zone Tailgate, Sept. 5

  Itawamba Community College will host a free Red Zone Tailgate, Sept. 5, prior to the Indians’ home-opener football game with Pearl River.             The schedule includes 4 p.m., Indian Spirit Walk (cheer the football team on their way to Lambert Stadium); 5 p.m., cookout sponsored by ICC’s Alumni and Foundation with Kids’ Zone activities; 6:30 p.m., pregame Freshman Run; and 7 p.m., kickoff at Eaton Field. Sophomore members of the ICC football team and cheerleaders will be recognized during the pregame activities, and members of the All-American Band, at halftime.             All pregame events are free and open to the public.             Additional pregame events scheduled during home football games include Sept. 12, ICC vs. East Central, All-American Heroes Night; Sept. 26, ICC vs. Mississippi Delta, ICC Jamboree (music and art festival) and Oct. 31, ICC vs. Northwest, Choptoberfest. • ICC schedules September pathways classes

              Itawamba Community College has scheduled several pathways classes to begin in September at the Belden Center (3200 Adams Farm Rd.).             They include Small Engine Repair, September 6-October 27, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9 p.m.; Introduction to Welding and Cutting, September 6-October 6, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9 p.m.; Residential Wiring, September 6-October 6, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9 p.m.; Distribution Associate, September 12-29, Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m.-noon; Basic Construction, September 19-30, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and Electrician Assistant, September 19-October 13, Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m.             Additional opportunities are available including Human Resource Assistant, Introduction to Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing Skills Basic Certification and Quality Improvement Associate.             For more information about all classes or to register, call (662) 407-1569, email pathways@iccms.edu or www.iccms.edu/Fall22Pathways.

  Itawamba Community College has scheduled several pathways classes to begin in September at the Belden Center (3200 Adams Farm Rd.).                 They include Food Management Certification, Sept. 11-Oct. 6, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. p.m.; Introduction to Welding and Cutting, Sept. 12-Oct. 12, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9 p.m.; Small Engine Repair Technician, Sept. 12-Nov. 2, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9 p.m.; and Electrician Assistant, Sept. 12-Oct. 12, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9p.m.                 Food Management Certification includes the essential skills needed to thrive in the restaurant and hospitality industry.   Itawamba Community College has scheduled several pathways classes to begin Sept. 10 at the Belden Center (3200 Adams Farm Rd.).                 They include Electrician Assistant, Sept. 10-Oct. 10, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9 p.m.; Small Engine Repair, Sept. 10-Nov. 7, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9 p.m.; and Introduction to Welding and Cutting, Sept. 10-Oct. 10, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9 p.m. Electrician Assistant provides the foundational knowledge of basic math and basic safety rules; the use of hand, measuring and power tools; basic electricity and residential writing. Students can also prepare for entry-level jobs in industry or private businesses. • ICC schedules Sept. 26 Fall Preview Day for area high school seniors

  High school seniors will have an opportunity to learn about Itawamba Community College during its Fall Preview Day, which is scheduled for September 26 from 2:30-5:30 p.m. at the W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center at the Fulton Campus.                 Fall Preview Day attendees will also have free admission for the ICC/Mississippi Delta football game at Eaton Field, beginning with a tailgate at 5 p.m.                 They can select from up to two information sessions about ICC’s schools of academics, career education and health science, and participants will hear directly from faculty within the areas. They can choose which schools to attend based on a selected major through the registration link. Attendees will also receive information on involvement at ICC, financial aid/scholarships, housing and residence life, Phi Theta Kappa and honors. There will also be a question-and-answer session. • ICC schedules September adult education orientation sessions

  Itawamba Community College will enroll new adult education students at the Belden Center with a three-day orientation session, Sept. 20, 21 and 22.             Each session will begin at 8:30 a.m. Participants must have a photo ID, and 16-/17-year-olds should be accompanied by a parent or guardian and bring a withdrawal form from the most recent school attended.
