• ICC's summer drama camp takes humorous look at childhood

                Oh, to be young again…to climb trees, play house, double Dutch jump rope, ride bikes and roller skate.  Sounds fun,… until you remember the bumps along the way.  During Itawamba Community College’s summer drama camp, June 3-7, from 9 a.m. – noon at the W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center Auditorium at the Fulton Campus, students leaving the second through eighth grades will take a humorous romp through childhood – looking at some of children’s most challenging moments.             During the week, campers will play fun improvisational games like “Give Me Your Best Yucky Food Face” and “Funniest Sleeping Position.”  They will make props and pictures to feature in their final program as well as act out and narrate scenes from the following children’s books:  I Don’t Want to Get Up by Dr. Seuss, The New Small Child by Lauren Child, Tales for Very Picky Eaters by Josh Sneider, and Alexander, Who’s Not (Do You Hear Me?  I Mean It!) • ICC schedules two drama camps in June

              Itawamba Community College has scheduled two drama camps in June at the Fulton Campus.             Summer Paws: A Pounce Through Cat Literature is scheduled for June 7-11 and June 14-18, both from 9 a.m.-noon.  The first camp is for students leaving second through fifth grade, and the second, those who are leaving sixth through ninth grades. • ICC schedules Pixels, Plates and Paints summer camp

  Registration is underway at the Itawamba Community College Belden Center for Pixels, Plates and Paints summer camp for ages 12-15.              Sessions include June 22, 8-10 a.m., STEM; July 8, 8-11 a.m., art; July 15, 8-10 a.m., culinary and July 22, 8 a.m.-noon, digital.             The focus of the sessions include: STEM – Each group will receive a complete kit to use their creativity and problem-solving skills to assemble a working solar-powered car, which they will also race. Art – Through a hands-on session, participants will learn simple techniques and create their own “masterpieces” to take home. Culinary – Students learn essential kitchen safety and sanitation skills as well as enjoy a hands-on cooking experience with recipes that are simple and fun to recreate at home. Digital – Participants will learn the basics of iPhone photography and videography and take it to the next level by editing videos using a simple Web-based platform. • Registration underway for ICC Summer Band Camp

              Registration is under way for the 2021 Itawamba Community College Summer Band Camp, which will be June 20-25.             The camp is designed for those interested in furthering their music education, strengthening their leadership skills and creating lifelong friendships, according to director Ryan Todd. Since 1981, the camp has hosted more than 16,000 students from all over the United States. It is regarded as one of the finest summer band camps in the Mid-South.             Instruction includes general courses for all campers, drum majors, color guard and percussion.             The registration deadline is May 15.             For more information, call (662) 862-8406 or email bandcamp@iccms.edu.
• Registration underway for ICC's "Seussmania Drama Camp"

         Registration is underway for Itawamba Community College’s “Seussmania Drama Camp,” which is scheduled for June 3-7 from 9 a.m.-noon at the W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center auditorium at the Fulton Campus.             The camp includes classes and performances of “The Lorax,” “Hunches in Bunches,” “Green Eggs and Ham” and “The Sneetches.”             Students who are leaving second through eighth grade are eligible to participate.             The cost is $100 which includes camp t-shirt and daily snack. • ICC schedules second summer term registration

  Open registration for traditional second-term summer classes at Itawamba Community College is scheduled for June 24 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at both the Fulton and Tupelo campuses.             Classes begin June 28. Students also have an opportunity to register for eLearning second four-week classes, which begin the same day.             Registration locations are the David C.
