ICC Choirs to present spring concert March 31

An evening of music and artistry awaits as Itawamba Community College’s Choir and Chamber Choir take the stage for their spring concert on Tuesday, March 31, at 7 p.m. in the W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center on the Fulton Campus. The performance will showcase a dynamic selection of choral works featuring both the full ICC Choir and the select Chamber Choir, highlighting the talent and dedication of ICC’s student musicians. The concert is free and open to the public, offering the community an opportunity to experience live music in one of the college’s premier performance venues. ICC to Host Two Small Business Showcases in April

From fresh sourdough to handcrafted floral arrangements and locally made mead, Itawamba Community College is bringing hands-on experiences straight to the community through its Small Business Showcase series. Designed to connect consumers, small business owners and community members, the Small Business Showcase series provides opportunities to learn new skills, explore locally made products and build lasting relationships. The initiative also reinforces ICC’s commitment to strengthening its role as a community partner across the region. The first showcase will feature Blue Magnolia Bread Company on April 8 at 5:30 p.m. at 1389 Mobile Street in Saltillo. Participants will learn the art of sourdough bread making, including how to fold bread, prepare dough and create their own loaf to take home. The cost to attend is $25 per person. The second showcase will take place April 27 at 5:30 p.m. at 1719 McCullough Blvd. in Tupelo, featuring a collaborative experience with Queen’s Reward and 7 Acres Flowers. Attendees will enjoy one drink or slushie, learn the process of making mead and create a small, honey-influenced floral arrangement. The cost is $40 per person. Participants must be 21 or older ...

ICC Respiratory Care Technology program earns national recognition

Itawamba Community College’s Respiratory Care Technology program has been recognized for the second consecutive year by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care with the Distinguished RRT Credentialing Success Award, a national honor that highlights programs demonstrating exceptional student achievement and outcomes. The award is part of CoARC’s ongoing effort to emphasize the Registered Respiratory Therapist credential as a benchmark of professional excellence. From an accreditation and outcomes perspective, the organization views RRT credential attainment as a key indicator of a program’s ability to prepare graduates for success and encourage them to reach their highest professional aspirations. Programs selected for this recognition must meet rigorous, objective criteria based on data reported in the 2025 Annual Report of Current Status. To qualify, programs must have at least three years of outcomes data, maintain full accreditation without the need for a progress report, achieve an RRT credentialing success rate of 90% or higher and meet or exceed established benchmarks for high cut scores on the Therapist Multiple-Choice exam and student retention. “This recognition speaks to the consistency, quality and commitment of our faculty and ...

ICC to offer Intermediate Cake Decorating course at Belden Center

Registration is underway for an Intermediate Cake Decorating class beginning April 13 at the Itawamba Community College Belden Center. The course will meet Mondays from 6–9 p.m. and will continue through May 4. Designed for individuals with prior cake decorating experience, the class will build on foundational skills while introducing more advanced decorating techniques. Participants are asked to bring a turntable and any decorating equipment they already own. The cost for the course is $100. Woody’s featured at ICC’s March Dinner & Demo on March 26

Itawamba Community College will host its next Dinner & Demo on March 26 at 5:30 p.m., featuring Woody’s as the highlighted restaurant for the month. The limited-seat culinary experience invites guests to enjoy an intimate evening of cooking demonstrations by the residence chef while also dining on a specially curated menu from the featured restaurant. Designed as a monthly food experience, Dinner & Demo offers a unique opportunity to see preparation techniques up close while savoring a full meal in a relaxed, engaging atmosphere. The March 26 menu will showcase wild game selections, including duck and bison, offering guests a bold and distinctive dining experience. Additionally, chef demonstrations will include the Bananas Foster which is a well-known Woody's specialty.  Cost for the event is $75 per person or $140 for a couple. Seating is limited. ICC Dinner Theatre to present “Murder on the Orient Express” March 24 and 26

Itawamba Community College’s Dinner Theatre will present the classic mystery Murder on the Orient Express on March 24 and March 26 at the ICC Connection Center on the Fulton Campus. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner beginning at 6 p.m. The theatrical performance will follow the meal. Based on the famous Agatha Christie story, Murder on the Orient Express follows world-renowned detective Hercule Poirot as he investigates a murder aboard a luxurious train stranded in the snow. If you love suspense, glamour and a good plot twist, this is the event for you. The question isn’t who did it — it’s who didn’t? The production features ICC drama students in both cast and crew roles. Crew members include Emily W. ICC, Saltillo Historical Society partner for student research opportunity

Itawamba Community College students pursuing studies in the humanities will soon have the opportunity to take part in hands-on historical research and preservation through a new partnership with the Saltillo Historical Society. The agreement establishes a project-based learning collaboration designed to provide ICC students with experiential learning opportunities while supporting the Historical Society’s mission to preserve and share the rich history of Saltillo and its surrounding communities. The partnership was initiated by Masha Laney, ICC history instructor, who worked with leaders of the Saltillo Historical Society to create an opportunity for students to engage in meaningful, community-based historical work. Through the collaboration, ICC students will participate in activities that may include historical research, artifact preservation, archival work and community engagement efforts tied to documenting and interpreting the region’s past. Students will also gain exposure to museum operations and the responsibilities involved in preserving local heritage. Food Management Certification class set for March 23 at ICC Belden Center

Itawamba Community College has scheduled a Food Management Certification class at the Belden Center, 3200 Adams Farm Road, beginning March 23.Classes will meet Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through April 17. The comprehensive career pathway is designed to prepare participants for immediate employment in food service and hospitality settings. The course Serve Safe® Food Manager Certification, Serve Safe® Alcohol Certification, CPR, certificate of completion, proper food handling standards, kitchen safety practices, culinary techniques, interview skills and résumé building, money handling and front of the house and back of the house operations. The cost of the program is $1,000. Financial assistance is available for qualified applicants. Spring Preview Day 2026 set for March 20 at ICC

Choosing a college is one of the most important decisions a student will make, and Itawamba Community College offers an annual opportunity to explore that decision up close. ICC will host Spring Preview Day 2026 on Friday, March 20, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in the Davis Event Center on the Fulton Campus, welcoming high school juniors and undecided seniors to experience campus life firsthand. Designed for individual students and large groups alike, the event provides an inside look at academic programs, student services, departments and student organizations. Faculty, Student Exhibitions Highlight Spring Season in ICC Fine Arts Gallery

Itawamba Community College is showcasing its second exhibition of the semester with a double feature highlighting the work of both faculty and students. The exhibition is free and open to be public while on view through Wednesday, March 4, in the W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Gallery on the Fulton Campus. The Art Faculty Exhibition features paintings, drawings, metalpoint, mixed media and ceramics by Dr. Dana Arnold, Elizabeth Owen and Shawn Whittington. The exhibit presents works in traditional and experimental media and techniques, offering a broad view of the creative scholarship within ICC’s Fine Arts Division. A reception and question-and-answer session with the faculty artists will be held Wednesday, March 25, at 1:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Gallery. The ICC Student Art Exhibition and Competition is on display in the lobby and hallways of the W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Building.
