Limited openings available at ICC Early Learning Center - Fulton Limited openings are available at Itawamba Community College’s Early Learning Center on the Fulton Campus. Eligible for enrollment are potty-trained children three-to-five years of age, according to director Angela Patterson. The center, which includes two preschool/childcare classrooms, is licensed with the Mississippi Department of Health. It is open during the regular academic school year, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. and closed during the summer, school holidays and when ICC is closed during inclement weather. The center is also now accepting the Child Care Tuition Assistance for Eligible Mississippi Families. ICC schedules '24 spring semester open registration Itawamba Community College has scheduled open registration for the 2024 spring semester. Options include January 3 from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at both the Fulton and Tupelo campuses; and January 4 from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on the Fulton Campus and 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. on the Tupelo Campus. Locations are the Academic and Student Center on the Tupelo Campus and the David C. Cole Student Services Building on the Fulton Campus. Traditional full-term day and night and first eight-week classes begin Jan. 8; and eLearning full-term and first eight-week classes, Jan. 16. Financial aid is available as well as adult learner scholarships. Academic, career education, eLearning (online) and workforce opportunities are available in an extensive schedule, which includes both day and evening classes at Fulton, Tupelo and Belden. Adult learners who plan to attend ICC in the spring have scholarship opportunities Adult learners who plan to attend Itawamba Community College in the spring 2024 have two scholarship opportunities for financial support. They include ICC’s Adult Learner Incentive and the statewide Complete 2 Compete. ICC’s Adult Learner Incentive scholarship, which provides $2,000 ($500 per semester) for full-time students and $1,000 ($250 per semester) for part-time, is designed to provide an incentive for returning or new students, age 21, or older to pursue a degree at ICC. Criteria for selection include enrollment in a minimum of 12 hours (scholarship can be reduced to $25o per semester for part-time – six hours – status), meeting admission requirements and in good standing at ICC. The application deadline is Jan. 15, and the form is available at www.apply.iccms.edu. World Day of the Child should be celebrated EVERY day...because they are 'our future' The calendar pages are turning rapidly. Excitement and anticipation fill our days, hours and minutes…and most importantly, the sights and sounds of children, eagerly awaiting Christmas Eve, the most magical time of the year. Children…we must celebrate them every day, because, you see, they are our future. They need love, nurturing and attention, all of which are free. Sometimes it’s good to remember what it’s like to be a child…and seeing the world through their eyes. As the world rushes to prepare for the holidays, specifically Christmas, with making lists and checking them twice, it wouldn’t be a bad idea for us to stop for just a few minutes and reflect on those days when we were eagerly awaiting the arrival of Santa…an early bedtime, but little sleep as any sound could have been his reindeer.
