Registration continues

Students may register for traditional classes through Jan. 13; for the Jan. eight-week accelerated eLearning classes, Jan. 18; and full-term eLearning, Jan. 20. Academic, career and technical, eLearning (online) and workforce opportunities are available in an extensive schedule, which includes both day and evening classes at Fulton, Tupelo and Belden. To register, visit the Student Affairs offices at the Fulton and Tupelo campuses. Locations are the David C. Tupelo LRC workshops

The Learning Resource Center at the Itawamba Community College Tupelo Campus has scheduled a series of workshops during the spring semester. The workshops are designed to provide information about available resources as well as Microsoft Office 365. They include Navigating the LRC Databases (30 minutes) - Jan. 24 and Jan. 30, 1 p.m.; CANVAS Basics (45 minutes) - Jan. 25, 5 p.m. and Jan. 27, 10 a.m.; Lost in the Library? (30 minutes) - Feb. 1, 10 a.m. and Feb. 14, noon; Using Microsoft Office (45 minutes) - Feb. 7, noon and Feb. 10, 10 a.m.;  Keeping Up with Your Information (45 minutes) - Feb. 17, 10 a.m. and Feb. 22, 1 p.m.; and  No Shelf Required: eBooks and Audio Books (45 minutes) - Feb. 24, 10 a.m. and Mar. 1, 1 p.m.  The workshops are free and open to the public.  For more information, contact Holly Gray at ehgray@iccms.edu or (662) 620-5090.

Pack the House

Itawamba Community College alumni members and their families will receive free admission upon presentation of their ID to the fourth annual Pack the House event, which will be Jan. 30 at the Davis Event Center at the Fulton Campus. ICC will play Northwest with the women’s basketball game beginning at 6 p.m., and the men’s at 8 p.m. ICC’s Indianettes will perform at halftime of each game. A pregame tailgate will be available for alumni from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Davis Event Center. Connect2ICC

Connect2ICC will provide an opportunity for students to register for the spring semester at Itawamba Community College from 8:30-11 a.m., Jan. 7, in the Student Support Center at the Tupelo Campus. The session is designed for current and returning students, high school equivalency graduates, adult learners and transfer students, according to Michael Holloway, academic adviser/recruiter. Academic advising, online orientation, scholarships and financial aid representatives will be available to provide assistance.  Individuals who are 23 or older and not enrolled in college for the previous two years can also apply for the Adult Learner Incentive Scholarship, which provides half-tuition for one semester. Criteria for selection include Mississippi resident, enrollment in a minimum of six semester hours, meeting admission requirements and in good standing with ICC. The scholarship cannot be combined with other ICC institutional scholarships. Traditional day classes begin Jan. 9, and eLearning classes, Jan. 17.  ICC offers academic, career and technical, eLearning (online) and workforce training classes. FAFSA Day

Area high school seniors who need money for college have an opportunity to participate in the Northeast Mississippi FAFSA Day from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Jan. 26, at the Itawamba Community College Tupelo Campus. The first step in becoming eligible for college financial aid is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. “This form is your application for federal state grants, plus some college and private scholarships,” said Terry Bland, director of Financial Aid at ICC. Get2College counselors and college representatives will provide students and their parents with free one-on-one assistance submitting the FAFSA and the grant application for funds from the state of Mississippi. In order to participate in the event, students must sign up for a 30-minute appointment by contacting Tracy Bender in the North Mississippi Get2College Center at (662) 349-2789. The event is sponsored in partnership with ICC.
